The environment
Regular ECO Driving trainings for reducing CO2 emissions
Through the eco-drive course, we aim to achieve an average reduction in fuel consumption by 3% of initial consumption. This course focuses on the detailed analysis of the driving style of each driver and on the correction of those who do not properly use the vehicles. Increasing the level of training is essential in being aware of the errors that can occur during the transport.
Through a personalized training plan for each driver, we manage to eliminate vehicle operating errors and thus manage to reduce fuel consumption. Every trained driver will know the impact on the environment of the vehicle he is driving and how important it is to use it correctly to reduce CO2 emissions.
There are changes ahead
For the future, our goal is to join the club of companies within Europe, who have succeeded in reducing their CO2-emissions from transportation and logistics activities by more than 20% within 5 years. We want to yearly replace around 15-20 old trucks from the fleet with new generation trucks. In this way, we want to optimize the specifications of new trucks with a focus on lowering the fuel consumption (PCC, eco fuel software, tires that focus on reducing fuel consumption).
By improving the FMS system , the dispatchers will be able to transmit to drivers the optimal transport routes, in order to reduce the extra kilometers and fuel consumption. The tire pressure has an impact on fuel consumption. In the next period, we want to implement a system to monitor tire pressure and wear, in order to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Another goal we want to achieve in the coming years is to limit the speed from 90 to 85 km/h. This measure can considerably reduce the forward resistance of the vehicle, thus reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
