E. van Wijk Group acquires Steenbergen

The strategic acquisition of Steenbergen strengthens E .van Wijk Group’s network in Benelux
Logistics service provider, Steenbergen, specialized in 24-hour distribution transport in Benelux, has been acquired by E. van Wijk Group as of June 24, 2025. Steenbergen will continue to operate as a separate entity with the existing management team within the group. “The addition of Steenbergen to the E. van Wijk Group is a way for us to remain future-proof in a market that requires economies of scale and network consolidation. The densification of Benelux logistics network is an important step for both companies to continue to optimally serve national and international customers” says Ewout van Wijk, CEO.
A suitable candidate for E. van Wijk Group
Like E. van Wijk, Steenbergen Transport is a family business that has been active in the transport and logistics sector for decades. The company has over 300 active employees and 180 transport vehicles on the road every ay, strategically distributed both in The Netherlands and Belgium. This guarantees optimal delivery in the Benelux area. “Culturally, our two companies fit together well”, continues Ewout van Wijk. “This is reflected in the sustainable relationships with employees, customers and suppliers. Growth
E. van Wijk Group has acquired several transport companies in recent years. “In 2020, we formulated a growth-based strategy to ensure continuity” says Ewout van Wijk. “Logistics movements will increase in the future, which means that economies of scale are necessary” . After Steenbergen joins E. van Wijk Group will employ around 1200 people, with a fleet of around 550 transport vehicles.
